Thankfully, Detroit Lions right tackle Penei Sewell will not be joining the group of people who have thrown out disastrous first pitches over the years after firing an impressive one at the Detroit Tigers' home-opener on Friday afternoon.
There have been no shortage of absolutely dreadful first pitches thrown over the years, with the likes of 50 Cent, Chris Rock and Gary "Baba Booey" Dell'Abate topping the list.
But the All-Pro right tackle, who was clearly fired up for what was no doubt a cool moment for him, had no issue getting the ball to the plate, and while it might have been a bit out of the zone, it was far better than most attempts we've seen over the years.

We'll give him the strike.
"It's an honor and something I don't take lightly," Sewell said of his first pitch. "It's a lot further than I expected it, kind of seeing how far you've got to throw, but it was fun."
Sewell was also asked about the job general manager Brad Holmes has done this offseason and gave his stamp of approval, saying "he's doing a great job and I think everybody knows that's what's expected from him at this point."
