Former Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs has had a lot to say since he left the team in free agency for the Green Bay Packers. He's even gotten into spats with fans on social media that made it very clear he isn't happy with the franchise.
And Jacobs once again touched on his time with the Raiders during an appearance on NFL Network recently, where he stated that he's happy to be in Green Bay because of the stability it provides.
But that stability isn't just because of the long-term deal he got. Jacobs mentioned the instability the Raiders had at head coach over his five seasons with the team.
"I would say one of the main reasons was just the certainty of what I’m going to get," Jacobs said. "There’s already a lot of structure. There’s already a lot of stuff in place. Having another new head coach over there [in Las Vegas], my fourth head coach while I was there, I never felt like there was any stability.”
Jacobs certainly isn't wrong. After all, the Raiders had four head coaches from 2019-2023, and two of them were fired during the regular season.
The former first-round pick also talked about his legacy and wanting to play in more important games, something he didn't have a chance to do in Las Vegas after the team played just one playoff game in his time there.
"Honestly, normally, I never set goals," Jacobs said. "I tend to be the person that takes everything on a day-to-day basis. And I work on a day-to-day basis, and the results of that will be what you see, and that would be the goal, or whatever.
"I can honestly say that as I'm getting older and I'm playing longer, I have a real goal of legacy," Jacobs added. "I think that's a big thing — wanting to play in important games, play in the playoffs, make a deep run and, you know, play in that game if we get there. That's big for me. I think that's the most important thing."
Unfortunately, the Raiders and Packers will not face each other in 2024 because it would have made for a great revenge game angle.
