Ever since he was signed by the Las Vegas Raiders in May, veteran wide receiver Jalen Guyton has been quiet. He didn't do much during the offseason program and was just recently activated off the active/physically unable to perform list.
But Guyton finally started making his presence felt at Raiders practice on Wednesday, when he shined during the session.
According to Tashan Reed of The Athletic, Guyton made a highlight catch down the sideline against rookie cornerback Decamerion Richardson and was getting open often during the session. ESPN's Paul Gutierrez added that Guyton was "putting on a show."
This is certainly an encouraging development for the Raiders, a team that has some question marks on the depth chart behind Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers — and that was true even before Michael Gallup's abrupt retirement.
#Raiders WR Jalen Guyton made a really nice sideline catch matched up against CB Decamerion Richardson. He's gotten open often and let the rookie hear about it.

Guyton brings his own concerns, though. After showing some promise earlier in his career with the Los Angeles Chargers, Guyton's career hit the skids over the last two years thanks to injuries.
Tre Tucker figures to start the season as the team's No. 3 receiver, but that might be by default more than anything else considering he hasn't had a great camp and nobody has really stepped up to challenge him.
If he can stay healthy, Guyton will likely start the year as the No. 4 receiver on the depth chart, but if he can return to the form we saw early in his career with the Chargers, he has a shot to move up a spot as the season progresses.
