The Las Vegas Raiders struck gold last November when they claimed cornerback Jack Jones off waivers from the New England Patriots. The 26-year-old served as the team's CB1 towards the end of last season and will reprise that role during the 2024 campaign.
Jones snagged two interceptions and allowed a 33.9 passer rating when targeted in seven games for the Raiders in 2023, and also posted an 81.1 coverage grade, per PFF.
Jones' impressive play during the second half of last season earned him some recognition on ESPN's annual top-10 cornerbacks list based on the opinions of league executives, coaches and scouts, as the former Patriot received at least one vote for the top 10.
Though he failed to crack the top-10 list this year, Jones, who believes he's already a "premier corner" in the NFL, should be able to rise up the rankings if he builds off a strong finish to the 2023 campaign.
The former fourth-round pick is arguably Las Vegas' best secondary player and will be matched up with the best wide receiver on the opposing team each week.
He will play a pivotal role in defensive coordinator Patrick Graham's defense in 2024 and will be looking to establish himself as one of the better corners in the NFL in the process.
