The Las Vegas Raiders have no shortage of interesting games on their 2024 schedule, but none may be more intriguing to Raiders fans than the upcoming contest against the New Orleans Saints and quarterback Derek Carr.
That matchup will come in Week 17, when the Saints host the Raiders in New Orleans. Had the game taken place in Las Vegas, it would have had a little more juice, but that certainly doesn't erase the excitement of it.
Carr enters the season tied for an NFL record, as he's lost to a whopping 30 of the 32 teams in the league. One of those teams is the Raiders, who he has never faced. The other team is the Carolina Panthers, a team Carr will face twice in 2024, once in Week 1, and again in Week 9.
If the Saints can top the Panthers in both games, Las Vegas will have an opportunity to put Carr over the hump in Week 17, assuming he still has the starting job by then. At the very least, the Raiders will have a chance to be team No. 32 if Carr losses a game against the Panthers before his matchup against Las Vegas.
The only other active quarterback with losses to 30 teams is Indianapolis Colts signal-caller, Joe Flacco. One of the teams that hasn't beaten him, the Detroit Lions, are on the Colts' schedule, although Flacco will need Anthony Richardson to get injured in order to play in that game.
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson is also in striking distance of the record, as he sits with 29 losses and plays two of the teams that haven't beaten him yet in the Cleveland Browns and Philadelphia Eagles.
