The Las Vegas Raiders have officially wrapped up their 2024 preseason after tying the San Francisco 49ers on Friday, 24-24, which led to a 0-2-1 mark in exhibition play for head coach Antonio Pierce's team.
But as we know, the record doesn't matter, as the preseason is really for developing and evaluating players, while also serving as a means for players to get ready for the games that count.
With the preseason in the books, NFL analysts have begun putting together lists of the biggest standouts from the exhibition slate, and four Raiders players have been recognized.
According to Sporting News' Jacob Camenker, punter AJ Cole, cornerback Jack Jones and wide receiver and returner Tyreik McAllister made the cut on his All-Preseason team. Receiver Tre Tucker was listed as an honorable mention.
Not that we should be surprised, but Cole was kicking absolute nukes during the preseason, with the punter averaging 52.6 gross yards and 45.4 net yards per attempt.
Jones picked up where he left off last season and earned a 90.6 coverage grade and surrendered a passer rating of 59.6, per Pro Football Focus, while also tallying an interception.
McAllister saved his best for last in preseason Week 3, with the former CFL running back turned wide receiver reeling in two grabs for 56 yards and a touchdown, and scoring on an electric 81-yard punt return.
Speaking of electric: Tucker caught five balls for 139 yards, averaging 27.8 yards per catch. Three of those grabs were for 30 or more yards, including two over 40.
While Cole, Jones and Tucker are all locked into the 53-man roster, McAllister will have to sweat things out. However, he's also competing for a spot at a position group that is wide open behind the top four, so he's got a good shot.
In our final 53-man roster projection for Las Vegas, we had McAllister on it.
