The Las Vegas Raiders wrapped up their final practice of training camp at Costa Mesa, California on Wednesday and head coach Antonio Pierce shared with the media his list of standouts from the summer.
Pierce went on to mention plenty of names you'd expect, but he also gave praise to some under-the-radar players and a few rookies, like offensive tackle DJ Glaze, linebacker Tommy Eichenberg and tight end Brock Bowers.
"Guys that stood out, let's talk about guys that probably nobody thought about, like DJ Turner, DJ Glaze, Brock Bowers, Jakobi Meyers had a really good camp," he said, per Vic Tafur of The Athletic. "Our entire offensive line, they changed our identity.
"Defensively, I thought Adam Butler from Day 1 has been consistent. Malcolm Koonce, Maxx Crosby. Tommy (Eichenberg), Jack Jones and I'll say both of our safeties, really our entire safety position played really well.
"And I'm not going to lie, without our two specialists, Daniel Carlson and AJ (Cole), they've been doing an outstanding job with the kickoff rule, and obviously what AJ is doing punting is at a high level."
If you've been following along closely with training camp since Day 1, none of those players are much of a surprise.
Pierce has offered praise for just about all of these guys at some point during camp, including the rookies, and they have all routinely been mentioned as standouts by beat writers in attendance.
The Raiders will take the next step in evaluating players for starting jobs and roster spots when they take on the Minnesota Vikings in preseason Week 1 on Saturday night.
