The Las Vegas Raiders reportedly bolstered their offensive line room on Monday, signing three-time Pro Bowler Andrus Peat.
Though the contract details have not been released (he should be at least relatively cheap), and it is currently unknown what position Peat will compete for, this is a savvy signing by general manager Tom Telesco.
Andrus Peat's versatility and experience will be a major plus for the Raiders. The 30-year-old has played left guard for most of his career but started at left tackle for New Orleans in 2023.
The former Stanford Cardinal has never allowed more than five sacks in a season and was selected to three consecutive Pro Bowls (2018-2020) while playing left guard.
At left tackle last year, Peat allowed two sacks, 30 pressures, and posted a 62.1 Pro Football Focus run-blocking grade.

Overall, this is a solid signing for the Raiders.
Peat will add much-needed versatility to the Raiders' offensive line and compete for a starting spot, either at guard or right tackle, the latter of which is the biggest question mark. If he doesn't win a starting job, Peat will provide quality depth.
He's an imperfect player who can be sloppy and inconsistent at times but will provide veteran leadership to a Raiders offensive line that is projected to have three starters under the age of 25.
