Kirk Cousins is continuing to get comfortable in his new home in Georgia as he becomes a part of the tradition like any other, joining ESPN for an interview during their coverage of The Masters this week. Kirk Cousins joined ESPN's Laura Rutledge and San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle to discuss the offseason and the duo's love for golf.
Cousins spoke candidly about how he enjoys golf to the extent that in the town where he grew up back in Michigan, he would commute an hour to and from his favorite golf course. Over time, this commute became tedious for the soon-to-be-36-year-old quarterback, so he did what any person in his situation would do: He bought a local golf course and plans to shape it to his liking when he's finished playing. Not to be outdone, Kittle also admitted to building a six-hole course in his backyard.
Switching to football, Cousins was asked about his time in Atlanta thus far as he is still getting used to the new digs and new teammates. He talked about the talent in the staff and his new teammates in Atlanta, and how he has been working for the past two weeks getting ready for the season. Cousins also acknowledged that they must get past Kittle and the 49ers, the recent NFC Champions to get anywhere in the playoffs.
Cousins' premier game in his last season in Minnesota was a 22-17 stunner against San Francisco on Monday Night Football. Cousins ended the game 35-for-45 for 378 yards and two touchdowns, both to rookie Jordan Addison.
