Before Atlanta United FC took on Cincinnati FC in a match on April 20th, they had their traditional Golden Spike ceremony where a special guest hammers the ceremonial golden spike into the railroad platform in Mercedes-Benz stadium. For this match, the special guest was a newcomer to Atlanta, the starting quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, Kirk Cousins.
Atlanta United posted the legendary entrance to their official social media page:
Atlanta, say hello to your QB 🏈

Cousins is still rehabilitating from his Achilles injury that forced him to exit his 2023 season, where he played some of his best football. During his rehab, he has been on a media tour of sorts, going to The Masters, going on shows with Shaquille O'Neal and Kevin Hart to reinforce his excitement to join Atlanta and now hammering in the Golden Spike.
Cousins has reinforced his desire to finish his career in Atlanta and has been doing all the right things since he signed to become a Falcon. All that's left is for him to prove it on the field come September.
