Patriots WR Julian Edelman returns to practice image

Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was seen taking part in on-field drills Friday during the portion of practice open to the media, according to reports.

After breaking his foot in Week 10, Edelman expressed hope he would be able to return before the end of the regular season.

Friday's practice was the first he had participated in since the injury, indicating his return is imminent even if he won't be available Sunday against the Texans, .

Tight end Rob Gronkowski (bruised knee) returned to practice earlier this week. Edelman was the only member of New England's 53-man roster who didn’t take part in Thursday’s practice.

Edelman has 61 receptions for 692 yards and seven touchdowns through nine games,
