Josh Allen injury update

Allen returned to Sunday's game against the Texans after a trip to the blue medical tent.

The star quarterback was being evaluated for a concussion after slamming his head on the turf when he was trying to evade a sack in the fourth quarter.

Allen was back in the game one possession later after CJ Stroud fumbled on the next drive. Backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky took one snap but Allen was under center the rest of the drive.

Allen led the Bills into the red zone but the offense had to settle for a game-tying field goal with 4:21 remaining in the game.

Allen was able to return to the game. He made some questionable decisions late in the game, but Buffalo lost to Houston 23-20.

On Monday, McDermott reaffirmed that Allen passed concussion protocols during Sunday's contest, per ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg.
