Packers receiver Jordy Nelson won't play Sunday against the Cowboys, coach Mike McCarthy announced Friday.
McCarthy on Jordy Nelson (ruled out for Sunday): We'll re-evaluate Monday. He's going through a workout now. He's feeling better every day.

Nelson suffered fractured ribs in the team's wild-card win against the Giants last weekend. He was a longshot to play against Dallas, but he wanted to wait and see how he progressed throughout the week before making an official decision.

The Packers will have a strong group of receivers, even without Nelson. Randall Cobb has returned to the lineup, and scored three touchdowns in the opening playoff round. Davante Adams has been great all season, finishing just three yards shy of 1,000 during the regular season while scoring 12 times and adding 125 yards and a touchdown against the Giants.
The biggest beneficiary of Nelson's absence will be Geronimo Allison.

Nelson will travel with the team, according to McCarthy.
