Tight end Jordan Reed is experiencing concussion-like symptoms, Redskins coach Jon Gruden announced Wednesday.
Reed did not practice Wednesday as he's currently being evaluated for a concussion. If doctors determine he has a head injury, Reed will be placed in the league's protocol and his status for Sunday against the Eagles would be in serious doubt.
Concussions have been a serious problem for Reed, who has experienced five of them since 2011 according to various reports. He missed the final six games of his rookie NFL season in 2013 because of concussion-like symptoms.
FANTASY: Week 6 tight end rankings
Reed has been a key factor for the Redskins, as he leads all NFL tight ends in receptions (33, tied with Greg Olsen) and is second in receiving yards (316) for the position. If he's unable to go, expect capable backups Vernon Davis and Niles Paul to see increased duties.
