J.J. Watt was dogged by a groin injury long before he left Saturday's blowout loss to the Chiefs. Now that the Texans' season is over, he'll finally be able to get healthy.

Watt told reporters Sunday morning that he will have surgery Tuesday to repair the injury, which he said has bothered him for "six or seven weeks now."

His breaking point came in the third quarter Saturday when he slipped while trying to chase down Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith. Watt went to the ground, then had his head slammed to the turf by Chiefs tackle Eric Fisher for good measure.

Watt was slowed in December by a broken left hand suffered in practice, but he played through it and said Sunday he won't need surgery for that problem.
