Los Angeles is a city known for its lavish lifestyle. From the entertainment industry booming in the California metropolis to its warm weather and beautiful beaches along the Pacific Ocean, it's a luxurious destination for many.
While some choose to adapt to the City of Angels, others stick to their own style. Jim Harbaugh falls into the latter category.
The new head coach of the Chargers recently spoke about his experience in Los Angeles since he was hired by the team two months ago. It's been a "dream" for the former Michigan head coach, although not the kind of fantasy most would expect of someone in Los Angeles.
Instead of taking up residency in a multi-million dollar mansion, Harbaugh is living in a RV. Yes, you read that right — the coach of the Chargers has been thriving the last two months living in a van down by the river beach.
It's a fitting living situation for an eccentric personality like Harbaugh.
"It's been great," Harbaugh said Tuesday. "Just being myself. I always wanted to do that [live in an RV]. It worked out great. I'm 100 feet from Greg Roman, who has a really, really good RV."
Harbaugh is housing himself an RV, as is his new offensive coordinator (and neighbor) Greg Roman. It's another fascinating nugget in the career of one of the most interesting coaches in football.
But why is Harbaugh living in an RV? The Sporting News explains the reason behind the coach's unique living situation.

Why is Jim Harbaugh living in an RV?
Living in an RV is nothing new for Harbaugh. The 60-year-old had his RV during his time with Michigan. In fact, his brother-in-law, former NCAA basketball coach Tom Crean, reportedly drove the RV from Michigan to Los Angeles for Harbaugh.
The Chargers coach is living out a dream of his by living in an camper by the beach, Jim Rockford-style. Harbaugh previously hinted at the lifestyle during his introductory press conference after he was hired by Los Angeles, citing the 1970s TV show "The Rockford Files" as an influence for his decision to join the franchise.
"My favorite show growing up is 'The Rockford Files,'" Harbaugh said. "It's still my favorite show. ‘Ted Lasso' has now tied 'The Rockford Files.' That was me as a kid. Driving that Camaro around L.A. and the car chases. Down there by the beach, have the trailer down there at the beach.
"I told my wife, 'I want to drive my RV out here and go to a trailer park, like down by the water or by Disneyland.' There are two that I've researched that are close to the facility."
In the show, the main character, private detective Jim Rockford, lived in a trailer at the beach. So Harbaugh is doing his best Rockford impression for the time being.
"I want to Jim Rockford it for the next couple of months until we move into the new facility," Harbaugh said earlier this offseason. "I have that thought going through my head."
It's only a temporary living situation. Harbaugh's family is expected to soon join him in California, moving from their current residence in Orlando.
"Now that's coming to an end — happily coming to an end — because my family is coming to California," Harbaugh said. "They're all here on this trip, and we're all going to California together. We'll be moving into our rental house, and that's even better."
