With playoff seeding at stake, the Patriots dominated the Jets 38-3 to secure a first-round postseason bye for the ninth consecutive season.
Tom Brady threw for four touchdowns, all in the first half, and looked like his old self after he had been intercepted three times in his last two games. New England played a mistake-free game to cruise to the victory.

On the flip side, the Jets offense put up a putrid three points after scoring 60 in their previous two contests. They lost three fumbles, one that was recovered by the Patriots for a touchdown and another that gave New England possession inside the red zone. The third came on the final play of the game New York finished with only 239 yards of offense.
The win insures that the Patriots will be among the top two seeds in the AFC during the postseason. If the Chiefs and Chargers both lose on Sunday, they will be the No. 1 seed, otherwise, they will finish in the No. 2 position. The Jets end the season in last place in the AFC East and may fire coach Todd Bowles come Monday.
