An unsightly win over the Redskins has the 4-8 Cowboys thinking about what still might be, even if getting there isn't pretty.
After all, despite playing .333 football, Dallas is only a game back in the NFC East, owner and general manager Jerry Jones says.

"I'm going to go back to that old saying, 'it's an ugly baby, but it's my baby,'" Jones said Tuesday on 105.3 The Fan (via the Dallas Morning News). "Here we go, step-by-step."
Ahead: three of four remaining games against teams with 6-6 records or better, starting Sunday with the Packers (8-4) in Green Bay. After that, the Cowboys play the Jets (currently 7-5) and Bills (6-6) before closing with the Redskins, at 5-7 tied atop the NFC East with the Eagles and Giants.
"The bottom line is 'why not?'" Jones said. "If we can go up [to Green Bay], our defense can put together a game like that, get more confidence in our offense, then here we go. Why not?"
