The Cowboys may be 2-6 and in last place in the NFC East after Sunday’s 33-27 overtime loss to the Eagles, but coach Jason Garrett still likes what he's seen despite six straight losses.

"I thought we battled really well over the course of these last six games," Garrett told reporters after the game. "I thought we’ve done a lot of good things. I love how our team plays — we scratch, we claw, we fight really in all aspects of our football team."

Despite the encouraging words, the Cowboys are in trouble and are past the “when Tony Romo comes back” stage. If they want to play into January, they will have to achieve what no team has ever done — reach the playoffs after starting 2-6.

But don't tell Garrett that.

"We’ll build on a lot of the positive things that have happened," Garrett said. "I love the spirit of our team. I love the relentless nature of our team. Those things are really, really good. Those are things that we can build on."

The Cowboys have to go another week without Romo, but then they'll have to play twice in five days because of their annual Thanksgiving date, where they will play the now-perfect Panthers.
