Following reports last week that the defensive end was leaving the Bears to sign with the Jets, Jenkins' agents announced Wednesday that the deal has been reached.

According to the New York Daily News, the two-year contract that New York dealt to Jenkins is worth $7 million, with $3 million guaranteed.
Jenkins, 27, logged 32 tackles and four sacks for the Bears in 15 starts last season. Originally selected by the Redskins in the 2011 NFL Draft, he suffered a torn ACL in his rookie season and missed the entire year. He managed to record just two sacks over his next three seasons in Washington before signing with Chicago.
The Jets also reached a deal with nose tackle Steve McLendon on a three-year contract worth up to $12 million on Tuesday. The 30-year-old former Steeler is set to replace Damon Harrison after he signed a five-year, $46 million free-agent deal with the Giants last week.
