The Detroit Lions released their first injury report of the week ahead of their Week 2 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and wide receiver Jameson Williams was on it.
Williams had a breakout game against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1, with the third-year wideout tallying five catches for a career-high 121 yards and one touchdown. He also added one carry for 13 yards.
"He showed up," head coach Dan Campbell said of Williams, according to The Detroit News' Nolan Bianchi. "That was a big game...and the best part of it, he didn't even play his best ball. ... But it also shows the work that he's put in. ... He keeps taking these steps."
Following Williams' breakout performance, we didn't hear anything about an injury, but clearly he's dealing with something after being listed on the injury report this week.

When Williams was first listed on the injury report to start the week, we thought it was more a case of maintenance than anything else, but clearly it's more than that. We'll be on the lookout for reports about his status for Sunday, otherwise we won't know if he's playing until inactive are released prior to kickoff.
Thursday update
Williams was limited yet again at practice on Thursday, which raises the level of concern about his Week 2 status. We'll have to see what he's able to do on Friday and if he ends up carrying a designation into the upcoming game.

As of this writing, there has been nothing to suggest Williams is in danger of missing the game against the Buccaneers. We'll know more Friday.
Wednesday update
According to the team's injury report, Williams was listed as limited on Wednesday due to an ankle injury. This officially puts his status up in the air for Week 2.

However, there really shouldn't be much concern right now. It's still early in the week and chances are this is more about maintenance than anything else after Williams played the second-most snaps of his young career in Week 1.
Jameson Williams start or sit advice
The Buccaneers have a solid defense that surrendered the fewest fantasy points to wide receivers in Week 1. However, they were also facing a rookie quarterback in Washington Commanders signal-caller, Jayden Daniels.
After posting 24.4 fantasy points and ranking as WR5 overall in the season-opener, Williams is absolutely someone who should be in your lineup in Week 2. For now, temper expectations as a flex option, but Williams definitely has the kind of upside that could make him a locked-in WR2 moving forward.
