Ja'Marr Chase was among the most vocal members of the Bengals after they were crushed by the Titans 27-3 in Week 4.
Chase, who caught seven passes for 73 yards during the contest, lamented that he wasn't getting enough opportunities to spark a sputtering Cincinnati offense.
"I'm open — I'm always f—in' open," Chase said following the Bengals' loss to the Titans. "... I can't do nothing but I'm already doing. If I'm open, I'm open. What can I do? If I'm open, I'm open. Know what I'm saying?"
Evidently, Joe Burrow heard him. He made sure to get Chase ample opportunities to produce in their Week 5 contest against the Cardinals, and the third-year receiver didn't disappoint.
Chase put together one of the best performances in Cincinnati franchise history in its 34-20 victory over Arizona. He set a new franchise record for receptions in a single game and came close to some other career milestones in the team's huge win.

Here's a look at just how good Chase was on Sunday.
Ja'Marr Chase stats today
Chase had one of the best performances of his career against the Cardinals in Week 5.
With Tee Higgins out of action due to a rib injury, Chase was targeted a team-high 19 times during the contest. He managed to catch 15 of them for 192 yards and three touchdowns.
Chase's 15 catches set a new Bengals franchise record for receptions in a single game. The record had previously belonged to Carl Pickens, who caught 13 passes against the Steelers in Week 6 of the 1998 season.
Naturally, Chase's 15 receptions were the most of his career. He also tied his career high with three touchdown catches and recorded one of the highest yardage totals of his career.
Stat | Total | Career rank |
Catches | 15 | 1st |
Receiving yards | 192 | 3rd |
Touchdown | 3 | T-1st |
Cincinnati's offense looked a lot better and more open with Chase receiving a bulk of the team's targets. Burrow threw the ball 46 times meaning that Chase's target share during the game was a whopping 41.3 percent. Suffice to say that he won't be able to complain about his lack of opportunities anymore.

Of course, it's also worth noting that the Bengals are 2-0 on the season when Chase receives at least 10 targets in a single game and are 0-3 when he doesn't.
So, it appears that getting the ball to Chase is positively correlated with winning.
And that's a trend that shouldn't surprise anyone.
