Jamal Adam's return to the Seahawks lasted nine plays.
The Seattle safety, who missed almost the entirety of last year with a torn quad tendon, was hurt just minutes into the "Monday Night Football" contest against the Giants.
He was initially evaluated on the sidelines before leaving for the locker room. The Seahawks announced that he will not return.
Adams was the Seahawks' big acquisition in the 2020 offseason, sending a package that included multiple first-round picks to the Jets for the star safety. He made the Pro Bowl in his first season with Seattle, and signed a four-year, $72 million deal with the Seahawks in 2021, making him the highest-paid NFL safety at the time.

Jamal Adams injury update
Adams will not return to the Seahawks vs. Giants contest on Monday night.
The safety was hurt on the ninth play of the Giants' opening drive. As New York QB Daniel Jones rushed up the field, Adams stepped up to bring the quarterback down.
As Adams shot low on Jones, his head connected with Jones' knee.

Jones appeared wobbled as he went to the sidelines and was immediately checked on by the Seahawks' medical staff. The Seahawks confirmed that he was being evaluated for a concussion.
He was seen yelling at the NFL concussion advisor before eventually making his way to the locker room.

The frustration is understandable for Adams, who has not played in a game in over 13 months. With no Adams for the rest of the game, Julian Love likely will see an increase in his workload.
