Jaguars' Marcell Dareus cited for possession of marijuana image

Jaguars defensive tackle Marcell Dareus has been cited for possession of marijuana.

Dareus was pulled over for speeding Wednesday just before 2 a.m., and Atlantic City, New Jersey, police found two joints and a marijuana grinder in his car, according to WJXT.

Dareus was cited for misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and given a verbal warning for speeding.

Jacksonville released a statement regarding Dareus' situation on Friday.

″The Jaguars are aware of a citation involving Marcell Dareus. The matter will be handled internally,″ the statement read.

Dareus is in his third season with the Jaguars and has totaled six tackles in 2019.

Jacksonville (2-2) is riding a two-game winning streak and will face the Panthers (2-2) Sunday at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
