Indianapolis Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor is expected to have a big season in 2024.
After dealing with contract issues and injuries during the 2023 season, Taylor was limited to 10 games. All of that is behind him now, and the Colts are eager to see what he and Anthony Richardson can do.
They're not the only ones either. Garrett Podell of CBS Sports ranked Taylor fourth among NFL running backs.
"With a healthier Anthony Richardson and going through Indy's entire offseason program, Taylor should be back among the NFL's best in 2024," wrote Podell.
The combination of Richardson and Taylor in the same backfield should make for an efficient duo. Though it may dig into Taylor's overall volume, the efficiency should make up for it.
In 10 games last season, Taylor posted 169 carries for 741 rushing yards and seven touchdowns while adding 19 receptions for 153 yards and one receiving touchdown. He ended the season having scored at least one touchdown in seven of his final eight games.
Taylor is now three years removed from his fantastic 2021 season when he led the NFL in rushing yards. A full season of him and Richardson in the same backfield could get closer to approaching that number again.
