The Indianapolis Colts signed one of their fifth-round picks, wide receiver Anthony Gould, to his four-year rookie contract, the team announced Tuesday.
Gould, along with fellow wide receiver and second-round pick Adonai Mitchell, was among the final remaining rookies yet to sign his rookie contract for the Colts.
Now, only Mitchell remains without a deal.
An Oregon State product, Gould may not have a prominent role on offense with the wide receiver room so jam-packed, but he should have an immediate role as a return man.
This is especially true with the new kickoff rules the NFL is implementing during the 2024 season.
At 5-foot-8 and 174 pounds, Gould was a fifth-year senior for the Beavers. He ran a 4.39 in the 40-yard dash and added a 39.5-inch vertical and 10-foot-9-inch broad jump.
During his two years as a starter at Oregon State, Gould worked almost exclusively outside during the 2023 season. He posted 44 receptions for 718 yards and two touchdowns during his final collegiate season.
Gould is a true burner with track speed as a vertical threat. He's likely more of a gadget player on offense. His major impact will come on special teams where he averaged 16.4 yards per punt return in his career. In 2022, he led the FBS with 18.3 yards per punt return.
