The Indianapolis Colts selected Missouri safety Jaylon Carlies with the No. 151 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Finally, the Colts add to their secondary. After a long wait into the middle of Day 3, Carlies is a massive safety at 6-foot-2 and 227 pounds. He has 34 1/4-inch arms, and he ran a 4.50 in the 40-yard dash, adding a 10-foot-5-inch broad jump.
Carlies was a three-year starter at Missouri, recording 11.5 tackles for loss, 17 passes defensed and nine interceptions in 48 games (40 starts).

Carlies probably profiles more as a hybrid safety-linebacker in the NFL. The Colts don't use a ton of formations with three linebackers, but he could fill a similar role to that of Ronnie Harrison in 2023.
He will be battling for a roster spot at the back end of the depth chart as a weakside linebacker, and he could add more value on special teams.
