While he certainly showed a few flashes as both a blocker and pass-catcher during his rookie campaign, it's safe to say that Tennessee Titans tight end Josh Whyle would've liked to do more.
Whyle appeared in 11 games in his first season but saw it cut short due to injury. He finished with nine catches for 94 yards and scored his first touchdown, giving the Cincinnati product a taste of NFL success.
Ahead of his second year, Whyle has been putting on a strong showing. After a solid offseason program, the second-year tight end has turned some heads at training camp.
"Tight end Josh Whyle is also getting himself noticed," Jim Wyatt wrote after the team's second practice of training camp. "Whyle made a nice snag across the middle on Thursday on a ball thrown by Levis."
Shockingly, Whyle is even getting some love in the national media, with CBS Sports' Pete Prisco naming him "a player to watch" after attending Day 2.
While Levis impressed, some other things from Titans camp that caught my eye:

—-Both running backs will play a lot and maybe even together. They are both “air” backs so it would work.
—-Second-year TE Josh Whyle is a player to watch. He will be a factor in the offense.
Whyle has also turned heads with his body transformation, with Wyatt noting earlier this month that Whyle has "changed his body" and gotten "bigger and stronger."
Keep an eye on: Whyle. A fifth-round draft pick in 2023, Whyle began to pick up some momentum a year ago before being injured. This offseason he's focused on getting bigger and stronger, and he changed his body. He's looked like a different player this offseason. After totaling nine receptions for 94 yards and a touchdown as a rookie, I'm expecting Whyle to make a big jump in 2024.
With what we've seen from Whyle this year, there are even some out there who think he can challenge for the starting tight end job with Chigoziem Okonkwo.
Whether he takes the job away or not, head coach Brian Callahan made it clear that the tight ends room isn't going to be a one-player show, which opens the door for Whyle to make a significant impact.
Look for Josh Whyle to possible step forward with some opportunities based on offseason work. https://t.co/7qiSN1oUuC

The Titans are going to have a crowded situation when it comes to their pass-catchers and Whyle is going to start out fifth in the pecking order, at best.
However, if the progress he's made this offseason translates to the field, he'll get his chances in the offense and, who knows, maybe he can supplant Chig, also.
