He said what?! NFL refs ridiculed; Rams coach Jeff Fisher slams critics image

From postgame press conferences to next-day media availability, NFL players and coaches can't escape the microphone.

Rams coach Jeff Fisher did not like people questioning his team's effort; the Raiders want Disney to make a movie about one of their undrafted players; Bills coach Rex Ryan isn't a fan of the replay process; both the Cardinals and 49ers had harsh words for the officials; the Dolphins made more changes to their coaching staff; and Texans defensive end J.J. Watt admitted his team "sucked" early this season.

Here's the latest edition of "He Said What?!"

Fisher on the Rams' effort during a 4-7 season, including their current four-game losing streak:

"Anyone who implies that it's an effort issue, they can kiss my ass because there's no effort problem."

— Giants coach Tom Coughlin on his team's 20-14 loss to the Redskins

"This is one you can look at and say shoulda, coulda, woulda all day long."

— Ryan said the NFL's replay process let his team down during Sunday's loss to the Chiefs when he didn't challenge a couple of questionable plays because the replays weren't shown on the Arrowhead Stadium video boards.

"I'm not going to name names or anything like that, but obviously, there is a process in place," Ryan said Monday. "Did that process let us down yesterday? Absolutely did. It failed on a couple of occasions obviously.

"I'm not going to get into specifics of it, but there's something we clearly have to improve in."

— Raiders quarterback Derek Carr on undrafted wide receiver Seth Roberts, who was on the practice squad last season but has 21 catches for 352 yards and four touchdowns this year and is coming off a six-catch, 113-yard performance with two touchdowns against the Titans:

"The guy has consistently worked his tail off to make the practice squad, then to make the 53, to be the starting slot (receiver) and now he's making game-winning catches. I think they'll write a Disney movie about him some day."

— Dolphins coach Dan Campbell fired offensive coordinator Bill Lazor. Miami's offense is ranked 26th following Sunday's 38-20 loss to the Jets.

"I feel like, offensively, we've been anemic for five weeks now," Campbell told reporters Monday. "We've tried to do a number of different things and it didn't work out."

— Watt on the Texans' four-game winning streak following a 2-5 start, including a 44-26 loss to the Dolphins on Oct. 25:

"I think it was pretty clear that we sucked at that point, so something had to happen. We had to play better. So far, we’ve been doing that."

— 49ers guard Alex Boone was especially critical of the officials during San Francisco's 19-13 home loss to the Cardinals. Boone wasn't "really too worried about getting fined" by saying "those refs sucked." He wasn't alone in his criticism with Cardinals coach Bruce Arians chiming in as well.

"The officials were struggling — mightily," he said. "They can't count to three."

— Ravens defensive back Will Hill on when he thought he might score following Brent Urban's field-goal block in Monday's win over the Browns:

"As soon as I picked it up," he told ESPN after the game. "I was praying for a block and a miracle happened. As soon as the block came, the ball was coming my way and I said, 'If I pick it up, I'm scoring.'"

Jets safety Calvin Pryor was criticized by Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill for celebrating after breaking up a pass intended for Rishard Matthews, resulting in a rib injury for the Dolphins receiver. Pryor said Matthews' injury was Tannehill's fault, not his.
