UPDATE, 9:20 p.m. ET: Bills coach Rex Ryan told reporters Friday (per the team's website) he and Roman "agreed to part ways." Ryan added he believes the decision "is going to help our team".
Bills offensive coordinator Greg Roman was relieved of his duties Friday following an 0-2 start to the 2016 season, the team announced.

The move is a surprising one considering Roman is the highest-paid offensive coordinator in the NFL, and he wasn't exactly bad at his job. The Bills' offense exceeded expectations in 2015 and, while it didn't play well in Week 1, its performance Thursday night against the Jets wasn't bad considering Buffalo finished with 31 points.

Replacing Roman as offensive coordinator will be assistant head coach and running backs coach Anthony Lynn. Unfortunately for Rex, there wasn't a third Ryan twin to hire on the coaching staff along with brother Rob.

Prior to joining Ryan's staff with the Bills in 2015, Roman was the offensive coordinator under Jim Harbaugh in San Francisco. He had success with the 49ers, which made him a big name for potential head coaching opportunities a few years ago. Now he's out of a job as the Bills need someone to blame for their poor start.
