INDIANAPOLIS — Cowboys coach Jason Garrett all but confirmed Wednesday that the team is moving on from Greg Hardy.
When asked by Omnisport at the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine about the status of the controversial defensive end, Garrett succinctly replied, "Greg Hardy is a free agent."

The headache clearly isn't worth it for a player who had six sacks in 12 games but was reportedly often late to team meetings and instigated a sideline blowup with Dez Bryant during a game against the Giants.
Hardy was suspended for the first four games of the 2015 season for violating the league's personal conduct policy stemming from a domestic violence incident that cost him 15 games in the 2014 season. Hardy's conditioning tailed off during the latter part of the 2015 season as the Cowboys stumbled to a 4-12 record.
For his one season in Dallas, Hardy received about $8.8 million. He will hit the open market, as Garrett essentially confirmed reports that the team would not retain the 27-year-old pass rusher.
Hardy will officially become an unrestricted free agent March 9.
