Grant Delpit's rookie season may have ended before it even began.
Multiple media reported from Browns training camp on Monday that the rookie safety, Cleveland's second-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, was carted off the field. Other reports indicate the Browns fear it is an Achilles injury, which has a typical recovery time of four to six months in the NFL.

Delpit's was a star-studded college career, particularly in his sophomore season: He recorded 74 overall tackles (9.5) for loss, five sacks, five interceptions, nine passes defensed, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery in 2018. In 2019, he won the 2019 Jim Thorpe Award as college football's best defensive back and battled through an ankle injury to help the Tigers win the 2019 College Football Playoff.
He finished his career with 199 tackles (17.5 tackles for loss), seven sacks, eight interceptions and 24 passes defensed. Many considered him a surefire first-round draft pick — especially after his 2018 campaign — though he ended up falling to the Browns with the 44th overall pick.
Delpit will reportedly undergo testing on Monday night to determine the severity of his injury.
