Eli Manning isn't going down without a fight.
With questions surrounding his starting job echoing as loud as ever, Manning led a game-winining drive down the field that gave the Giants (2-7) a 27-23 win over the 49ers (2-8). New York grabbed its first win since Week 3.
Manning connected with Sterling Shepard on a 3-yard touchdown pass and went 6 of 9 for 69 yards on the final possession. It was one of three scores that Manning had during the game, with the other two coming to Odell Beckham Jr.

Nick Mullens had some impressive moments for San Francisco in his second career start, but threw two costly interceptions — one of which led to a touchdown — to linebacker D.J. Goodson. Matt Breida (132 yards from scrimmage, two touchdowns) and Robbie Gould (3-for-3 in field goals) were the biggest standouts for the 49ers.
Neither team has playoff expectations after poor starts to the season, but both were able to receive offensive performances that they can build off of, especially with Manning showing that he still has what it takes to be the starting quarterback.
The Giants will look to string a couple of wins together next Sunday when they play the Buccaneers, while the 49ers will have a bye week before they too face Tampa Bay.
Sporting News provided live updates of the Giants last-minute win over the 49ers on Monday Night Football.
