The Giants gave the Commanders the boot, then they gave them the Jordans.
Big Blue clung to a 20-12 win over the Commanders on "Sunday Night Football," giving themselves a major boost in the playoff race and ending Taylor Heinicke's Jordan-wearing Cinderella run — it was Heinicke and the Commanders' first loss since Nov. 6 against the Vikings. And, much like Cinderella, maybe the glass Jordan fell off.
So, as division rivals are wont to do, the Giants took an opportunity to troll the Commanders by way of sneakers — and SNKRS. The Giants social media squad posted a photo of some custom Commanders-colored Jordans, taking a shot at Heinicke:

The photo, which mimics the success screen on Nike's SNKRS app, is a jab at Heinicke's tradition of buying Jordans in the colors of the teams he's beaten.

To his credit, Heinicke has loaded up the sneaker closet in 2022. The Commanders backup-turned-starter is 5-2-1 in his last eight games, helping Washington stay afloat after a poor 1-5 start under Carson Wentz. That makes Jordans in the colors of the Packers, Colts, Eagles, Texans and Falcons.
With the loss, the road for Washington to make the playoffs is a bit more difficult. At least Heinicke is wearing the proper footwear to walk it. (And, apparently, the Giants are too.)
