New Giants head coach Pat Shurmur is moving quickly to assemble his defensive coaching staff in New York.
A source told Sporting News that Lou Anarumo (defensive backs), Bill McGovern (linebackers) and Gary Emanuel (defensive line) are now set to work under new coordinator James Bettcher.

Anarumo was Miami’s defensive backs coach from 2012-16. He also served as Dolphins interim defensive coordinator in 2015 after the team fired Kevin Coyle in-season.
Emanuel spent the past six seasons as the Colts' defensive line coach.
McGovern already was handling Giants linebackers the previous two seasons when Steve Spagnuolo was defensive coordinator.
Shurmur was hired as New York’s head coach earlier this week to replace Ben McAdoo, who was fired late in the 2017 season.
The Giants ranked among the NFL’s worst defenses last season in average yards (373.2) and points (24.2) allowed en route to a 3-13 record.
