After leaving the Jets' game against the Ravens on Sunday with a knee injury, quarterback Geno Smith spent the second half standing on the sideline in street clothes.
Legendary Jets quarterback Joe Namath wants to know why.
STEELE: Jets still owe Geno fair chances
Namath, 73, used Twitter to interrogate the current New York quarterback on his toughness.
His question: "How bad can it be?"
If you've got a right knee injury keeping you out of the game why are you standing on the sideline the entire 2nd half? How bad can it be?

Smith, 26, responded accordingly.
Somebody tell Joe that the doctors have the final say on whether you can or cannot get back into the game...... and also that I love him!

Take that, old man.
Smith, who made his first start of the season, left the game midway through the second quarter after a sack by Ravens linebacker Matt Judon. He completed 4 of 8 passes for 95 yards and a touchdown before the injury
"I was trying to get away from a sack," Smith told reporters, via the New York Daily News. "The guy was able to grab a hold of me. Something just felt funny when I got up. I don’t think it will be anything too significant."

Ryan Fitzpatrick, who had lost the starting job due to poor play, played in relief of Smith and helped the Jets to a 24-16 victory.
Smith said he wanted to return, but the team opted to keep him sidelined: "Honestly, I was begging to go back out there, but I understand they’re doing their jobs so we’ll see how it goes tomorrow and move on from there."
Smith was scheduled to have an MRI on his knee Monday. Coach Todd Bowles said he wants to see those results before naming a starter for next week's game in Cleveland.
