The National Football League is a brutal business that will cast you aside just as quickly as you become a superstar. All it can take is one year for that change to happen and sometimes an injury can turn into a career ender.

The position that gets impacted the most is running back. They take a beating more than any other position and it can shrink their careers in a major way. Former Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook has seen his career take a tumble due to injury and his athleticism isn't what it used to be.

Don't tell Cook that. He is working out down in Houston, TX and was emphatic about how he's still the guy.

It's hard to see Cook as still being that guy after how the last two years have played out. He struggled with the Vikings despite having over 1,000 rushing yards in 2022 and got buried on the New York Jets depth chart where they ended up releasing him during the season.

Cook is still a free agent and looking for a football home in 2024.
