Michael Brockers was a key cog for the Rams defense for nearly a decade after being selected in the first-round back in 2012. After 11 seasons in the NFL, he’s calling it a career.
Tuesday evening, Brockers announced he is retiring from football. He shared the news on Instagram, thanking his wife, the Rams, Lions, and the fans for their support during his time in the league.
Brockers spent the first nine years of his career with the Rams after being selected 14th overall in the 2012 NFL Draft. Brockers was the first player selected with the picks acquired from the the Robert Griffin III trade and was the first pick made by Les Snead as general manager of the Rams. He was then traded to the Lions in 2021 for a 2023 seventh-round pick and spent the next two seasons in Detroit. Brockers was cut in early 2023 and did not play last season.

In his 11 seasons with the Rams and Lions, he recorded 415 total tackles and 32 sacks. It's fitting that he and Aaron Donald, two cornerstones of the Rams for so long, retired in the same offseason.
