A trio of former Detroit Lions players have been reinstated by the NFL after being hit with gambling suspensions that kept them from playing in 2023.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, wide receiver Quintez Cephus, safety C.J. Moore and defensive lineman Demetrius Taylor have all been reinstated by the league after missing all of last season.
Cephus and Moore were both released by the team after their suspensions were announced in April. Taylor's ban came down in June, more than one month following his release from the team.
Cephus was the most high-profile player of the three, as he was a former fifth-round pick of the Lions in 2020. He tallied 37 catches for 568 yards and four touchdowns over three seasons but played sparingly in 2021 and 2022 because of injury.
Moore signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent in 2021, appearing in 56 games while serving as a backup. Taylor was also a UDFA of Detroit and played in one game in 2022.
