After sitting out the 2023 campaign due to a gambling suspension, former Detroit Lions wide receiver Quintez Cephus resurfaced in 2024 with the Buffalo Bills, but Cephus' stint there was short-lived, as he was cut after a little over two weeks.
Luckily for him, another team came calling. Cephus signed with the Houston Texans ahead of the team reporting for training camp this week. The length and financial terms of the deal were not immediately disclosed.
Unfortunately for Cephus, his chances of making the Texans' roster are extremely slim. After all, Houston is absolutely loaded at the wide receiver position. The best Cephus can hope for is a spot on the practice squad.
A former fifth-round pick of the Lions in 2020, Cephus showed some promise over the first two seasons of his career before ultimately striking out in Detroit. He was cut loose prior to last season after his suspension came down from the league.
