Former Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Deon Cain is getting another shot at making an NFL roster.
A sixth-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Cain is signing a contract with the Buffalo Bills after Chase Claypool was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday.
Cain spent two seasons with the Colts as a promising wide receiver who never reached his ceiling during his time in Indy.
He has just nine receptions and 124 yards in his NFL career and was waived by the Colts during his second season in the league.
Cain bounced around the league, including stints with the Pittsburgh Steelers (2019-2020), Baltimore Ravens (2021) and Philadelphia Eagles (2021-2022).
Cain joined the Birmingham Stallions during the 2023 season in the USFL. He was named the USFL Championship Game MVP when he caught three touchdown passes.
After a training camp stint with the Eagles, Cain re-joined the Stallions in the fall of 2023 and re-signed with the Stallions. He won a second championship, this time in the UFL. In 10 games, Cain had 33 receptions for 436 yards and three touchdowns.
