The Los Angeles Rams 2024 schedule has been released. We now know the exact road the Rams will have to take to earn another Lombardi trophy in the Sean McVay era. The team plays in five primetime games, including a Sunday night game to kickoff the season on the road against the Detroit Lions.
Of all the seventeen games on the Rams' schedule, which will be the toughest?
5.) Week 12 vs. the Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles narrowly beat the Rams last season in Week 5, and the two will square off in primetime this year in a Sunday night football showdown. Philadelphia has a high-octane offense with AJ Brown and newly-acquired Saquon Barkley. Last year, the Rams' offense sputtered in the second half, something they're hoping won't repeat this year. The Rams will have to remember to turn up the heat and blitz often, as that dismantled the Eagles' passing game completely last season.
4.) Week 14 vs. the Buffalo Bills
This one is fortunately at home, but it's made all the more tougher by the looming game against the San Francisco 49ers that same week. Despite the immense overhaul the Bills had over the offseason, they still boast Josh Allen under center, who smashed the Rams' defense the last time they played.
3.) Week 10 vs. the Miami Dolphins
The high-flying Dolphins' offense will make its way to LA for a Monday night showdown, and this one has the potential to be a high-scoring affair. This will be a tough test for the Rams' defense, as Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are virtually uncoverable, and Tua Tagovailoa gets the benefit of playing in a dome in this one. How new DC Chris Shula opts to attack the Dolphins' offense will be critical for a win that week.
This will also be a reunion with former Rams great Jalen Ramsey, who will make his return to LA after being traded last year.
2.) Week 1 @ the Detroit Lions
What more needs to be said about this game? The Rams just suffered a bitter playoff loss in that exact stadium just a few short months ago and now they travel to get revenge. Matthew Stafford returns to Detroit once more in what needs to be a statement game to start the season off right.
1.) Week 15 @ the San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers have had the Rams' number in the regular season under Kyle Shanahan, and it has to be a point that just gnaws at Sean McVay every offseason. If history is any indication, this game will likely have heavy playoff implications and could even decide the division.
It's made worse by being off of a short week on Thursday night, right after the Rams take on Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. This game will be a grind, but it's the most important game of the season for the Los Angeles Rams.
