FanDuel Picks Week 8: Best NFL DFS lineup advice for daily fantasy football tournaments image

Thank you, NFL schedule makers. Last week was one to forget thanks to a difficult slate to navigate, complicated even more by the teams on bye. Now, we're back to seeing all 32 in action as the shield flips the page to Week 8. We'll do the same, hoping that our combination of DFS stars and sleepers with high floors and higher ceilings can deliver us above the cash line in our FanDuel contests.

Before we break down our picks and strategy, here are the most notable scoring rules for FanDuel contests: four-point passing TDs and half-point PPR.

FanDuel Picks Week 8: NFL DFS lineup for GPP tournaments

Sunday main slate, $60,000 budget

QB Lamar Jackson, Ravens @ Cardinals ($8,800). Jackson and the Ravens are rolling now. The offense is clicking, making Jackson look like his MVP-self again, and that's great news for our DFS lineup in Week 8. After picking apart the Lions at home, Baltimore hits the road for a battle of the skies. The bird-centric matchup between the Ravens and Cardinals is quite the mismatch on paper, and the results should reflect that on the field. Arizona is allowing 368.3 yards per game (28th), a big difference from the much-improved Lions group that is ranked 11th at 316.9 yards per game. Jackson, who's completing passes at a career-high 71-percent clip this season, will pass and run all over this feisty Cards defense.

RB D'Andre Swift, Eagles @ Commanders ($7,700). After a few weeks of high usage, Swift wasn't as involved in the passing game against the Dolphins, totaling just three catches after 14 over the previous two weeks. The rushing workload was still there, however, with 15 carries for 62 yards. Swift also notched a touchdown against the Commanders earlier season. With that kind of usage, he's bound to do it again, especially if Jalen Hurts is truly compromised in any way with his knee injury. In that case, Swift should be involved much more in the receiving game again.

WEEK 8 DFS: DK lineup | Best values | Best stacks

RB Breece Hall, Jets @ Giants ($7,200). The Jets are that kid that just got a new toy. They can't put it down. It goes everywhere and receives tons of attention. Gang Green is experiencing that with Hall again in 2023. Without the pitch count, the star running back is receiving a full complement of carries once again as New York's offense casts aside Dalvin Cook like an old toy that's bound to be donated somewhere. Hall gets a Giants' defense that's stepped it up in recent weeks, but they're still giving up 137.3 rushing yards per game. While the Giants love to blitz, bringing pressure on 30.3 percent of the time, the Jets clearly just want to run. Hall has proven to be an asset in both the run and pass games, making him the perfect player for our lineup.

WR Zay Flowers, Ravens @ Cardinals ($6,500). Flowers is just about in full bloom now as the rookie has officially announced his arrival to the NFL. Fantasy players and bettors know that Flowers has made an impact since Week 1, but everyone else is starting to catch on after the rookie scored his first touchdown in Week 6. He followed it up with an electrifying performance against the Lions with 75 yards on four catches. With the way the Ravens are playing, it would be tough to avoid the Jackson-Flowers stack. So we won't.

WEEK 8 PPR RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

WR Diontae Johnson, Steelers vs. Jaguars ($6,400). Johnson returned to the Steelers in Week 7 after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 1 and didn't skip a beat. The receiver hauled in five catches on six targets, recording 79 yards in the process. Against a Jaguars team that ranks just outside the bottom 10 in average yards allowed to receivers (172.4), we'll take a shot on the Pittsburgh offense finally putting it all together as it regains some key players.

WR Rashee Rice, Chiefs @ Broncos ($6,000). Rice, the receiver, and rice, the side dish, are almost one and the same. Both of them can stand alone or on the side. The Chiefs' rookie has been mostly a complementary piece this season, shining in the role. He's seen a consistent increase in snaps, playing a season-high 40 in Week 7. Rice also ran a season-high 30 routes, bringing in five catches for 60 yards and a touchdown. After recording a season-high 72 yards against this same Broncos team just two weeks ago, Rice gets to continue his upward trajectory.

WEEK 8 STANDARD RANKINGS:
QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers

TE Darren Waller, Giants vs. Jets ($6,400). By this point in the season, you know the drill. The Jets have a really good defense that can't become great until they learn how to play in the first half. If there's a weakness besides that, it's Gang Green's ability to defend the tight end. They allow the most touchdowns on average (0.83 per game) to the position, and the most fantasy points per game (10.0). Waller is finally getting involved in the offense, scoring his first touchdown with the Giants in Week 7. Big Blue will likely struggle to move the ball, but when they do, it's going Waller's way.

FLEX RB Bijan Robinson, Falcons @ Titans ($7,100). We just can't quit the Falcons. Call it an addiction, an overly optimistic viewpoint, whatever you like -- we know talent when we see it, and Robinson can't be left out of the lineup. The mysterious headache that wasn't reported prior to kickoff won't impact the running back going forward, and if you've been playing this game long enough, you know that Robinson is in for a big day, even against the Titans' run defense. Tennessee just traded away All-Pro safety Kevin Byard, hurting their immediate outlook. We'll expect to see Robinson involved a ton, as Arthur Smith laughs maniacally behind his play sheet, knowing he got us again. Robinson probably also has a one-way ticket booked to the end zone, where he'll probably break out an Advil-inspired shirt to celebrate.

DEF Atlanta Falcons @ Titans ($3,900). The Titans likely find themselves starting Malik Willis or Will Levis for an injured Ryan Tannehill (ankle), which spells trouble for the team from Nashville. Atlanta allows the fourth-fewest yards per game (285.4), and against a Titans team that was struggling to move the ball with Tannehill, it might get really ugly without him.

Best SuperDraft NFL DFS Picks for Week 8

This year, we're also listing our favorite DFS plays on SuperDraft

For those unfamiliar, SuperDraft's DFS scoring involves point multipliers as opposed to traditional salary-capped or tiered contests. A winning lineup will likely feature a strong mix of stud fantasy contributors with 1x-1.6x boosts, as well as matchup-based sleepers with larger multipliers. Each player is assigned a scoring multiplier based on their value as determined by SuperDraft. Users can roster any player in their lineup with no restrictions.

Here are the most notable scoring rules for SuperDraft NFL contests: Half-point PPRfour-point passing TDstwo-point bonuses for 100 rushing yards100 receiving yardsand 300 passing yards.

MORE SUPERDRAFT DFS: How to play SuperDraft

  • QB: Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs (Multiplier 1x)
  • RB: Bijan Robinson, Falcons (Multiplier 1.3x)
  • RB: Alvin Kamara, Saints (Multiplier 1.2x)
  • WR: George Pickens, Steelers (Multiplier 1.45x)
  • WR: Zay Flowers, Ravens (Multiplier 1.45x)
  • WR: A.J. Brown, Eagles (Multiplier 1.15x)
  • TE: Travis Kelce, Chiefs (Multiplier 1x)
  • FLEX: RB Travis Etienne Jr., Jaguars (Multiplier 1.2x)

For our SuperDraft lineup, we are back to stacking some big stars in great matchups. People might look to fade Mahomes and Kelce after a big Week 7, especially after Denver held the duo in check two weeks ago. However, with a full week to prepare this time around, Kansas City should dominate, just like Kamara, Etienne, and Brown will do with their big workloads as the top options on their teams. Robinson should have a bounce-back performance, while Pickens and Flowers keep rolling.
