A citation has been issued to a Kansas City-area man who targeted Tom Brady with a laser pointer during the AFC championship game against the Chiefs.
According to The Associated Press, prosecutors on Tuesday said Dwyan Morgan, 64, of Lee's Summit, Missouri, faces a single count of disturbing the peace, which is a municipal violation.
Morgan had been banned for life from Arrowhead Stadium in February for shining the laser pointer at the Patriots quarterback.
The incident was first brought to light by KMBC-TV reporter William Joy, who posted a video on Twitter that appeared to show a green dot flickering near Brady's face.
Our photographer, Turner Twyman, caught someone pointing what appears to be a laser pointer in Tom Brady's face last night. Play between the "muff" that wasn't and Sorensen int. @NFL, @Patriots and @Chiefs all told me they weren't aware of the incident. pic.twitter.com/ejWBQ6i64C

The Kansas City Police Department initially planned to cite the fan with disorderly conduct before team officials reportedly urged authorities to push for what was called "the harshest penalty possible" for the violation.
"There's a lot of pride in Kansas City, and we and our fans thought, 'You don't do that here,'" an unidentified Chiefs official said at the time (per ESPN).
Brady guided the Patriots to a 37-31 overtime victory against the Chiefs to advance to Super Bowl 53, where New England defeated the Rams.
