Football season is so close that you can almost taste it and the shot-firing has begun.
In a recently posted episode of “Hot Ones Versus”, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams joined Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown — both recently featured in Netflix’s new docuseries “Receiver” — for a game of ‘tell the truth or eat a hot wing’.
At one point in the episode, Adams asked St. Brown to name the worst fanbase in the league. St. Brown, without hesitation, named division rival Green Bay Packers, but he wouldn’t stop there:
#Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown says #Falcons have some of the “worst fans” in the league.

St. Brown notes a lack of attendance when he played in Atlanta during his rookie year in 2021. pic.twitter.com/wQxM0EY81I
These comments from Detroit's star receiver understandably saw a mixed bag of reactions from Atlanta Falcons fans:
2021 was a horrible year for our fans I can’t lie. He’s not wrong about that.

As a falcons fan, I couldn’t agree more.

Yeah it was day after Christmas, the @AtlantaFalcons were 6-8 with no shot at Playoffs. That's the year Julio was traded and Ridley flaked out. Basically what Lions games looked like in December until recently. https://t.co/TQroh0DsfR

Let's compare the Falcons attendance with the Lions attendance since Amon-Ra St Brown entered the league shall we?

2021:
Falcons-15th
Lions-32nd
2022:

Whether you agree or disagree with St. Brown’s comments, 2021 was a rough year for the Falcons, as the team finished 7-10 and missed the playoffs. This also marked the final season with the team for franchise quarterback Matt Ryan, before being traded to the Indianapolis Colts for a third-round pick.
Now, just 3 years later the team announced this week that they have officially sold-out their season tickets for 2024 – the first time in nearly two decades.
It’s safe to say there is a massive amount of excitement going into this new season for Atlanta, and Mercedes Benz Stadium may very well be jam-packed for every home game. All eyes will be on this new-look Falcons team as they desperately need to deliver this season. With a new head coach, a new quarterback and an improved offense, there should be no reason the team can’t at least win the NFC South…right?
