The Ravens couldn't find a trade partner for Eugene Monroe, which means the former first-round draft pick will test free agency after being released Wednesday.
Monroe's release will save the Ravens $6.5 million against the salary cap.
According to ESPN, the Ravens and Giants were in trade talks but ultimately couldn't reach a decision. New York didn't want to trade someone in addition to taking Monroe's contract.

ESPN also reports the Giants, Chargers and Seahawks are the top candidates to land Monroe now that he's available to sign with any team.
Monroe is a talented player but has struggled to remain healthy in recent seasons. He hasn't played a full 16-game season since 2012 as a member of the Jaguars, who selected him with the eighth overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft. Baltimore picked Ronnie Stanley in the first round of this year's draft, and he's expected to be Monroe's replacement at left tackle.
