Someone needs to tell those evaluating the NFL that the Denver Broncos are good at the center position. ESPN feels the Broncos need to add to the position and that has been suggested more than one time in recent weeks.

Despite having Alex Forsyth, Luke Wattenberg and Sam Mustipher on the roster, the team also drafted Nick Gargiulo in the seventh round. He could play guard in the NFL but he was a center at South Carolina.

Recently, former NFL safety Matt Bowen, who now covers the NFL for ESPN, listed his best fits for the top remaining free agents. The Broncos are linked to Connor Williams, a former second-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys who has spent the past two seasons with the Miami Dolphins.

Denver Broncos have enough competition at center

Williams suffered a torn ACL late last season and that is the biggest reason as to why he is still available as a free agent. A team in need of a center will eventually come calling but that is not the Broncos.

There is no doubt that Williams at 100 percent is probably better than any guy the Broncos currently have, but to get him healthy and up to speed is going to take some time. In addition, the Broncos have Forsyth, the guy who played with Bo Nix in college and he is the team's best option right now, mainly for that reason.

The Broncos have what they need to evaluate the center position, there is no need to add to it.

Some other notes from Bowen's piece that relate to former Broncos:

The best fit for Justin Simmons is the Tennessee Titans. Dalton Risner, who waited into the season for a deal last year, could be forced to do the same this year. He is connected to the team that signed him last year, the Minnesota Vikings.

Finally, Michael Thomas, the former New Orleans Saints wide receiver who could be an excellent fit for the Broncos, would fit better with the Cowboys, according to Bowen.
