When should the Minnesota Vikings start quarterback J.J. McCarthy? It's the question that everybody has been asking and will continue to ask.

McCarthy was there for the beginning of OTAs and was throwing alongside Sam Darnold and Nick Mullens. The talk among the beat reporters on Twitter was that McCarthy had a lot of zip on the football. However, it's been made clear that watching him throw that there are some mechanical adjustments being made.

It will likely take time for that to become permanent which could have McCarthy ready to play by week one, but they don't have to rush things. Robert Griffin III believes that it should be week seven against the Detroit Lions. Why? The bye week is the week prior

It's a good spot for McCarthy and one that I highlighted earlier this month in what games are most likely for McCarthy to start. Now, will it end up being game seven? Well, the only major deterrent is a Thursday night game just four days later, but having two weeks is a good thing.
