Empire State Building slaps New Yorkers in face, shines Patriots, Eagles colors image

The Jets and Giants didn't make the NFL playoffs this year, but they're still being handed Ls.

If you're a fan of either New York football team, you have plenty of reasons to be disappointed in your terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad seasons. Now, chances are you've heard both the Patriots and the Eagles are advancing to Super Bowl 52 and have to try really hard to not vomit at that thought, too.

Can't get any worse than that, right? Watching the chief division rivals of the Jets and Giants, respectively, advance to the Super Bowl while you're busy sulking is the bottom of the barrel, right?

Wrong.

Just check out the blasphemous, horrendous, disappointing betrayal from the (once) iconic Empire State Building on Sunday night.

It's bad enough that New Yorkers have to deal with the bad football, the MTA and tourists, but now they have this shining through their bedroom windows at night, reminding them of how abysmal the New York football scene really was in 2017.

Needless to say, some (apparent) New Yorkers took issue with it.

The Statue of Liberty wouldn't do this.
