The Tennessee Titans and Los Angeles Chargers pulled off a trade on Wednesday that involved the former sending defensive back Elijah Molden to the latter in exchange for a late-round pick.
When the move was first reported, the exact pick the Chargers sent the Titans for Molden was not revealed. However, the Titans shared the exact pick that was involved in the deal on Wednesday evening.
According to Jim Wyatt of TennesseeTitans.com, the Titans received a 2026 seventh-round pick in exchange for Molden, who was originally a third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
That was about what we expected. Molden didn't have a ton of value after failing to do much to stand out over his first three seasons in the NFL. Adding to that, he was absolutely buried on the Titans' depth chart at safety behind Quandre Diggs, Amani Hooker and Jamal Adams.
Now, Molden will have an opportunity at more playing time in Los Angeles, where he joins several other former Titans, including edge rusher Bud Dupree, cornerback Kristian Fulton and defensive lineman Teair Tart.
To replace Molden on the roster, the Titans claimed defensive back Julius Wood off waivers after he was cut by the Dallas Cowboys. Tennessee also has veteran Mike Brown on the 53-man roster.
